NewRoad Sensors & Safety | 4 Core Modules
Module 1: Environment Perception
NewRoad Environment Perception acts as the all-round vision of robotic systems. Integrated with LiDAR, 2D/3D industrial vision and safety light curtains, it delivers 360° real-time monitoring of the entire workspace.
The system builds dynamic environmental models to identify workpieces, obstacles and approaching personnel accurately. For high-speed industrial robots, it gives instant alarms against area intrusion. For collaborative robots, it predicts human movement and optimizes motion paths in advance. Replacing traditional physical fences, it creates an invisible safety barrier to keep production visible and risks under full control.
Module 2: Robot Status Perception
This module focuses on monitoring the operating status of the robot itself, serving as the foundation for stable and precise operation. Equipped with high-precision position sensors, rotary encoders, speed and acceleration detectors, it continuously tracks joint angles, motion trajectories, running speed and load conditions.
During heavy-duty and long-hour operation, it compares real-time data with preset parameters. Once position deviation, overload or abnormal movement occurs, it automatically corrects trajectories and sends alerts. It guarantees high repeat positioning accuracy, reduces mechanical failures and extends equipment service life, maintaining efficient and stable operation all the time.
Module 3: Force & Tactile Perception
Specially designed for human-robot collaboration scenarios, this is the core technology for fence-free operation. NewRoad Force & Tactile Perception integrates joint torque sensors, 6-axis force torque sensors and flexible tactile units, endowing robots with highly sensitive tactile capability.
Compliant with ISO/TS 15066 safety standards for human-robot interaction, it detects subtle force changes within milliseconds. When accidental contact happens, the robot will slow down, retract or stop immediately to limit impact force to a safe range. It also supports force-controlled teaching, precision assembly and flexible grinding, enabling safe, flexible and efficient human-robot cooperation in electronics, precision manufacturing and light industry.
Module 4: Intelligent Safety Decision System
As the intelligent brain of the entire safety system, this module connects all sensing units to form a closed loop of Perception – Analysis – Decision – Execution. Powered by self-developed algorithms and safety controllers, it collects and analyzes multi-dimensional data from all sensors for real-time risk assessment.
It adopts graded response strategies: the robot will adjust speed and paths for potential risks, and trigger emergency stop instantly in case of emergencies. Upgrading from passive response to active early warning, it balances productivity and safety perfectly. It adapts to both heavy-duty industrial robots and flexible collaborative robots, building a multi-layer and highly reliable safety protection system for automated production lines.
